Harlie is the daughter of Eric and our former school teacher Candi (Robertson) Walker. Young Harlie has recently been diagnosed with a non-life-threatening genetic disorder, the main side effect of which is that Harlie only has a small amount of hair on her sweet head. Harlie is a great, loving, smart little girl who starts kindergarten next year. "Locks of Love" will provide wigs for Harlie throughout her childhood, starting when she turns six years old.
To show our support for Harlie and her family, and to provide donations to Locks of Love so they can continue their good work, we thought it would be great fun to host a community event. We have planned a PARTY for Harlie and her family. Please join us!
Saturday, March 13, at the Virginian Convention Center. The Virginian has generously donated their conference room. There will be dinner, drinks, kids' games and entertainment, casino games, silent auction and on-the-spot Locks of Love donations. Something for everyone in the family!
Locks of Love (www.locksoflove.org) is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.
Locks of Love uses donated real hair to make realistic wigs for children in need. It is estimated that 80% of all donations come from children who wish to help other children.
Candi is collecting hair for Locks of Love and will send it all in together after the event in Harlie's name. The hair donations will not help Harlie directly with her wig costs, but they will help other children in need and will bring awareness to this great program.
Professional beauticians will be on hand at the Fund Raiser on March 13 - so you can donate your long hair. They will also cut men's and children's hair for a donation. Please call Stacy Saunders to make an appointment, so we know how many are getting haircuts at the event and what time we need to start.

Please consider donating items or services for this event. If you have something you would like to donate - from you personally, from your business, or if you want to help find donations - please contact Stacy Saunders. We hope to have all the items/services rounded up within the month since time goes quickly. Big or little. Everything helps and is very appreciated!
If you would like to help in any other way please contact Stacy Saunders or Yvonne Robertson.
Just remember - Every little bit counts!
